  New Employee Introduction to TEA

As you know, new employee orientation is a critical factor in helping a new person develop a productive, lasting relationship with your organization. If your new employee is going to be a TEA user, you probably want to get this person up and running quickly.

First, we recommend that you sign up your new employee for one of our TEA training sessions, whether onsite or online, as soon as possible, but in the meantime there are a few steps that must be performed in order for your new employee to start working with TEA. The first step is to create a user account for the new employee.

Step #1 - Creating a user account
You will find help for creating a new user account in our October 2005 issue of the Power of Nine. Take a look at the instructions in 4. Adding a New User to TEA .

The next step is to create a security profile for the new user account you have just created.

Step #2 - Creating a security profile
This can be done by following the steps in the support document TEA Security and Administration. Once you have established the new employee's permissions in TEA, you should print a copy of those permissions and give them to the employee for future reference.

The next step is to provide the new employee access to the TEA Tutorial data so that s/he may try out various scenarios before working with the organization's live data.

Step #3 - Going through the TEA Tutorial data
The TEA Tutorial document can be found by browsing to C:\Program Files\NextGen\Tix. Locate the tutorial document, double-click it, and then print a copy. It is a good idea to use as many scenarios as possible so that the new employee can gain confidence in a variety of situations.

Once the new employee is ready to start using TEA, s/he will likely have many questions and a considerable learning curve.

Step #4 - Getting help with TEA
A good starting point is the TEA help file, which you can access by pressing the F1 key on your keyboard, or by selecting the Help menu and choosing "Help Contents". This help file has a table of contents and a search feature that allows you to type keywords to find specific topics.

Another good tool when starting is to ask other TEA users in your office for assistance. If you still have not been able to get an answer to your TEA question, go to Help | Email TEA Support. This will create a blank email where you can type your question and submit it to the TEA Support Team.

Another good source of information and help is the Support section on the CommonGoals website. You can access the Support section by pointing your web browser to www.commongoals.com. Enter your "Username" and "Password" in the login section located on the right-hand side. Please contact TEA Support if you have forgotten this information. There, you will find a Documentation Library, Downloadable Customized Reports, Tutorials, FAQ documents, Help documents, downloadable reports as well as archives of the Power of Nine eNewsletter.

The TEA Support Team is here to help both current and new employees. It is our collective goal to ensure that you get outstanding customer service and that you make optimal use of TEA.

TEA support is available Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST via e-mail at teasupport@commongoals.com, or via telephone at 1-800-354-5152. A Support Representative will reply to your questions and inquiries in a timely manner. Please provide as much information as possible so that we can answer your questions quickly and accurately.

TEA Support Surveys

Over the past few weeks, you may have seen a TEA Support Survey request in your Inbox following the completion of a support issue with a member of our TEA Support Team.

At CommonGoals Software, we are always looking for ways to improve and enhance our support services. We think that one of the best ways to achieve this is by listening to feedback, suggestions and ideas from our customers. So here is your chance!

If you receive a TEA Support Survey request, we encourage you to take 2-3 minutes to complete the survey and let us know about your support experience. Tell us what we are doing right and what we can improve on. Your evaluation of our performance is extremely valuable and will help us be more responsive to your needs in the future. After all, our support services are designed with you in mind so we need to hear from YOU to be sure that we are doing the best job we can.

If you have already submitted a survey, Thank You! Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.

We look forward to hearing from you in the future!
